Happy St. Patrick's Day
Sure and here's a wee bit of fun to enjoy with your Irish Coffee, a foine piece of cartoon blarney by that darlin' Chuck Jones. Watch it quick before the Warner Bros. banshees yank it off You Tube, ah wurra, wurra!

Thanks! That was just what I needed!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you, and be wary of the green beer!

Thylacine spotting

I instantly thought of you this weekend when, at a flea market, I spotted a large, two volume book on animals from 1885, with many black-and-white engravings of animals. The thylacine was one, and it described how it lived in some of the more desolate parts of Tasmania. 1885, mind you.

Didn't check the price, but the seller is often there, every weekend.

They are tricky varmints. Just when they disappear, they pop up again. I just saw footage someone took of one earlier this month. Naturally it was indistinct and out of focus. Looked kind of like a corgi to me, but who knows?

And as sure as the only green I'll be wearin' is on me teeth, I'll be wishin' a merry Saint Patty's day to you, yer colleen, and yer kids.

An' yes, boyo, I said "Patty," not "Paddy." Let the other scalawags hang out with Paddy; I'll be keepin' me wanderin' non-green eyes on the womenfolk. Even if it is Peppermint Patty, that lovely drop o' dew from the pen of Charlie O'Schultz.
